Khulood Khan, EDD. RP (Qualifying) is a psychotherapist and spiritual care provider with extensive experience supporting individuals, parents, couples, and families navigating trauma, grief, anger, violence, and life-altering events. Her clinical work is informed by years of service in teaching, working with first responders, nurses, prison chaplaincy, community engagement, and Halton Police Victim Services, where she has witnessed firsthand the courage, resilience, and capacity for healing that emerge even in the most difficult circumstances.

Ms. Khan practices from a trauma-informed, client-centred, and integrative approach grounded in current research. She is trained in EMDR and draws on evidence-based psychotherapy to support healing from PTSD, complex trauma, relational wounds, and chronic stress. She understands symptoms not as pathology, but as adaptive responses to overwhelming experiences, and works collaboratively with clients to help them reconnect with their inner strengths and the resources that support recovery.

Much of Ms. Khan’s work is shaped by bearing witness to human suffering and to the strength that often grows from it. She believes that pain, while never chosen, can become a source of insight, resilience, and renewed purpose when held with care. In therapy, clients are invited to explore how suffering has shaped their story, what it has taken from them, and what it may be teaching about courage, connection, and the capacity to heal. The therapeutic process recognizes that one cannot walk into tomorrow with one foot still in yesterday. The past is not fixed; rather, its language is understood and its lessons carried forward. With greater freedom and awareness, clients and therapists journey together toward the future that awaits creation.

Ms. Khan’s work with youth, parents, couples, and those preparing for marriage is grounded in respect, dignity, and relational awareness. Parents and caregivers are supported in reflecting on children’s emotional worlds, while couples and families explore the cultural, relational, and personal strengths that shape connection and communication. Sessions focus on recognizing the resilience already present and understanding how it interacts with past experiences of separation, stress, or trauma.

Ms. Khan strives to create a therapeutic space where clients feel safe, heard, and seen, and where they can draw on their own strengths to move toward healing, growth, and renewed hope.

Have you ever felt disconnected from yourself, even while trying to stay strong? Sometimes life asks us to carry more than we expected: migration, grief, identity changes, family pressures, loss, or the quiet weight of anxiety. From the outside, everything may look fine, yet inside there may be confusion, exhaustion, or a sense of fragmentation. I see therapy as a space where healing begins through safety, trust, and honest conversation. My role is not to tell you who to be, but to walk alongside you as you reconnect with your strengths, values, and sense of meaning.

As a Turkish-Canadian Muslim immigrant woman, theologian, educator, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), and spiritual health practitioner, I bring both lived experience and clinical training into my work. My perspective is uniquely shaped by years of service in correctional centre chaplaincy and community work, where I have witnessed the profound resilience that emerges even in the most difficult circumstances. I work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and meet you where you are, approaching therapy with professional boundaries, evidence-based practice, and deep respect for your autonomy.

My approach is integrative and client-centered, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. I offer a trauma-informed space where we collaboratively explore emotional regulation and resilience at a pace that feels safe for you. For those who desire it, I also provide spiritually integrated care, where faith and existential questions can be explored as part of your healing journey.

In our sessions, we address challenges related to anxiety, stress, grief, and trauma, as well as identity transitions, migration, and relational dynamics. Healing, for me, is not about becoming someone new; it is about restoring coherence and reconnecting with the dignity and resilience that are already within you. If you are looking for a warm, culturally sensitive, and clinically grounded space, I would be honoured to walk alongside you. I offer a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your needs and ensure we are a good fit for your journey.
